Windermere weekend
June 21st to 23rd saw Pool of Life back at Windermere for a relaxing weekend. Some Amathus Dragon Boat Club members joined in too. Most of us stayed at Park Cliffe Camping and Caravan Estate as it’s close to Fell Foot and Paddlers for Life‘s base at Lake Windermere. It also has good facilities and lovely staff.
We met up at the campsite pub for a drink or two before settling into our caravans, tents, or pods on Friday evening.

Saturday was spent at Fell Foot National Trust park, where we enjoyed a delicious picnic. It was a relaxing day with people trying out various craft (kindly provided by paddlers from Preston Dragons, Amathus, and Pool of Life). Little Betty enjoyed a couple of swimming sessions and needed a cuddle from Dai 🧡

Saturday night was bingo night! It was good fun even though none of us had a lucky ticket.

On Sunday Paddler’s for Life invited us to paddle in their boat.
After a drink/ice cream we climbed aboard and spent a few hours out on Lake Windermere in the the glorious sunshine.
With such beautiful surroundings and good company we were sorry when it was time to put the boat away.

Our Windermere weekend next year will be June 20th to 23rd.
Please note: the campsite fills up very quickly, so book as soon as possible!
