River of Light evening paddle, 2024
Friday, 25.10.24 was the opening night for this year’s River of Light in Liverpool.
October is Breast Cancer Awareness month and Pool of Life took two dragon boats out to the Albert Dock to celebrate and raise awareness of our charity and what we are all about.
We paddled into the Albert Dock and were greeted with cheers and calls of encouragement as we moored up the boats.
Hels had come prepared with a flask of ‘Merry Berry’ mulled wine to share and raise a toast to Pool of Life and all our members – past, present and future.
Sonia explained to the gathering crowd who Pool of Life are, what we do and what our evening paddle is all about. This also included promoting breast cancer awareness month and how important it is to self-check for body changes and attend routine NHS screening for all health conditions.
Then it was time to paddle back to the watersports centre.
