Watch out Barcelona!
Pool of Life joined forces with Pink Royals UK Breast Cancer Dragonboat Team to take part in the 6th Barcelona International Dragon Boat Festival which took place from 23rd to 25th May, 2025.
The Pink Royals are a composite breast cancer team created in June 2019 which enables paddlers to take part in events when their regular team don’t have enough paddlers available to fill a boat of their own. (What a great idea!)
For this competition Pink Royals had paddlers from six UK teams who hadn’t paddled together before but nevertheless did amazingly well.
They won a medal in the Breast Cancer section and earned the gold medal in the ‘Masters 500 metre’ category by finishing 20 seconds faster than their heat time.
What an achievement.
