A selection of events from 2026
Pool of Life take part in many other events besides our training sessions and Pink Paddles. Here’s a selection of events that have happened so far this year.

Deysbrook Tesco kindly let us have a tombola stall in their store. This helped us to raise funds and awareness of Pool of Life, who we are and what we do.

March 24th was International Women’s day. We were invited to have a promotional table at the Tabernacle in Toxteth.

Throughout the year we have trips to the Royal Court Theatre. We usually watch the comedies set in Liverpool – very funny, but really not for the easily offended!

Pool of life are always welcome to train with Amathus Dragonboat Club. We are also invited to compete in racing events with them.

In May 2026 the Great Britain Breast Cancer Survivors Team were training at Liverpool Watersports Centre. Pool of Life were invited to join them for the session.

Chester market day, time for Pool of Life members to relax and have a fun day out.

Our first British Dragonboat Association National League race of the year, which just happened to be held in Liverpool.
It was a fantastic experience for those competing, also for the supporters cheering our team on.
Well done ladies.

Every year the Mayor of Liverpool holds a charity dragonboat race to raise funds for their chosen charity. Norman Shum, a very kind and generous businessman usually sponsors a boat and invites Pool of Life members to paddle alongside his friends, family and employees to fill the boat up and hopefully do well in the races.
This year three of our ladies took part and beat lots of good competitors to secure 2nd place. They were presented with a lovely trophy. Wow, what a memorable day.

On May 17th our chairperson, Sonia, and her lovely daughter Chloe took part in the Race For Life Pretty Muddy to raise funds for Cancer Research UK. They do amazing work with their research and clinical trials and rely on donations.
The course lived up to its name, Sonia and Chloe got Pretty Muddy but completed it with no major issues.
Good work girls.
